Founder's Story
My appreciation for small family farms has roots in my experiences growing up on one. My time spent with the animals on my families farm is what inspired me to pursue my degree in veterinary medicine and in 1996 I graduated from UW Madison as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
My appreciation for these style farms has only deepened throughout my veterinary career. Small, family owned and operated farms are too often labeled as terminal dairies. Yet there is an ethic that exists here, a quality of animal husbandry, a quality of animal health and ultimately a premium quality of raw milk. This level of excellence needs to continue to be part of the dairy landscape now and into the future.
I encourage you to join the Red Barn family. Not only will you enjoy the sweet flavors of our cheese, but also the feeling of making rural America a better place.
